Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell tweeted yesterday night of when he will return to his team.
Bell tweeted that he plans on returning to the Steelers on Sep. 1. Bell has been absent from training camp and has not played in the preseason due to not getting a long-term contract extension this offseason.
The Steelers placed the franchise tag on Bell which he has yet to sign. The franchise tag gives Bell $12.1 million this season.
Bell’s return comes a day after the Steelers play their final preseason game which is against the Carolina Panthers on Thursday, Aug. 31.
Last season Bell rushed for 1,268 yards and scored seven touchdowns on the ground while also catching 75 passes for 616 yards and hauling in two receiving touchdowns. Bell’s success last season came in 12 games as he missed the first four contests due to being suspended.
Bell has been looking to get paid for his versatility and will look to add to his case for receiving a big pay day after returning to the Steelers next month.
